All dogs are rigorously health tested and scores are published irrelevant of what the results may be. Certificates are open for all to inspect. We breed for ourselves and therefore have only one goal: To breed healthy high drive dogs that have courage and conviction. We do not select for avoidance behaviour, an attribute deep within South African dogs. We do not buy dogs from the UK, or enter in to breeding programmes within the UK, unless they are direct imports and have solid temperament facts. We test all dogs before mating and in this particular mating have worked both, the father, brothers and grand father. We do not breed dogs with huge bones or cartoon character heads. We do not breed dogs for size or aesthetic reasons. We do not discuss a dog’s weight or how impressive they look. We do not display our dogs’ heads and make statements as to the correct type of head. We monitor and contact all individuals who have sibling brothers and sisters to the dogs we choose to breed from in order to evaluate issues. We are happy to allow you to test our dogs for yourself, before you would want to commit to buying a puppy. We will do subtle, non hostile scenarios with the young puppies to accustom them to real life threats in adulthood. We encourage and teach pups bite work from a small age, which will ensure that full bite is the only bite they will know  (mastiffs are typical front teeth biters and bite correction with adults can be quite exhaustive). We will socialise all pups to different noise scenarios including gunshot at distance. We stimulate the pups to clatter stick and whip novelties. We do not do this for you, but for ourselves, because what we want our dogs with bomb proof nerves. We do not expect more than a small handful of a litter will become acceptable as a close protection/service dog, but with the correct training we anticipate the majority of the litter to be at best suitable watchdogs/ guardians/family protectors. Most of the litter will be suitable, with correct training, for on leash protection. We do not associate these dogs with exotic pets or status symbol dogs. We discourage the sale of any breed of dog bred as guardian protector for reasons of wanting a pet, in which case we ask you to consider a boxer, English mastiff or dogue de Bordeaux. We will, for the life of a dog, take back with full refund, no questions asked, dogs that are considered out of control or aggressive and dominant, provided they are healthy. We guarantee both hips and elbows for the first year. We will only sell to those who understand the importance of training, we strongly endorse that obedience work is done in conjunction with, and if not, prior to bite- work. We highly recommend and encourage all sports and work with Boerboels including agility, weight-pulling, therapy, obedience, tracking, herding and hunting, and welcome applications from those who wish to enter that arena and represent our breeding.
